Committees - Executive & Finance

   Executive & Finance Committee

Terms of Reference

The 2003 Strategic Plan, under mission #1, undertook to redefine the roles of the various component parts of the CCLS. During this exercise, it was confirmed that the Executive Committee:
  • allocates resources
  • ensures task forces and committees are meeting their terms of reference
  • reports to the Board
  • deals with management issues
  • sets the Executive Director's priorities.

All active committees and task forces report regularly to the Executive Committee, as does the Executive Director.

Section 8.3. of the CCLS by-laws provide a detailed description of the format, duties, and powers of the Executive and Finance Committee of the CCLS. The key duties, identified in the by-laws, are to:

  • manage the affairs of the CCLS between Board of Directors' meetings
  • propose and manage the annual CCLS Budget
  • liaise with the Canadian Institute of Geomatics
  • represent or arrange for representation of CCLS at the annual meetings of the provincial land surveyor associations.
