The third annual David Thompson National Geomatics Awards were presented at the National Surveyors’ Conference in St. Johns, Newfoundland. Awards were presented to Fugro Jacques Geosurveys Inc. (Patrick Byrne) in the category of “Innovation in Geomatics”, to Hydrographic and Geodetic Consulting (David Gray) in the category of “Contribution to Society”, and to McElhanney Associates (Jim Christie) in the category of “Unusual Application in Geomatics”. CCLS hosted the 2010 Annual National Surveyors' Association Forum on March 28 and 29, 2010 in Regina, SK, immediately following the Saskatchewan Land Surveyors' Association annual meeting. The CCLS Professional Liability Insurance Committee has produced a new brochure, Apples & Oranges (pdf) outlining features to look for in a professional liability insurance program designed for land surveyors.
