Terms of Reference

The Committee shall:

Solicit and nominate individuals for election to fill such offices as may be deemed necessary, from time to time, by the directors, to manage the affairs of the Corporation. Nothing herein shall preclude nominations being submitted from the floor. Before accepting a nomination, the candidate must obtain and provide written confirmation of support from his/her Association Executive. (See Bylaw Section 9.2.1. (b) ii.)

Submit a report and a full slate of nominees to the CCLS Executive sixty (60) days prior to the Members' Annual Meeting. (See Bylaw Section 9.2.1. (b))

Nominate qualified individuals as directed by the Executive or Directors to fill such offices and positions as official representatives or delegates as are required from time to time.

Recommend such awards (for example the Champlain Award), accolades and acknowledgements to an organization or a person or persons having exhibited an outstanding contribution, past or present, in promoting and/or advancing the profession of land surveying.

In order to facilitate the presentation of the "CCLS Champlain Award" (to commemorate, from time to time, the various persons in and associated with land surveying worthy of recognition) the Committee shall canvas the Members for nominees, prepare a list of nominees, supervise the election process, and submit a report to the CCLS Executive. This entire procedures should be completed eight (8) weeks prior to the Members' Annual Meeting with a recommendation for presentation at a suitable time and location.

Undertake or assign such special tasks as requested by the Executive or Directors/Members.

Prepare an annual budget to facilitate the undertakings assigned and incidental to its operation.

Liaise with other Committees to ensure harmony and consistency.

Committee Members

The Chairman is to be the Immediate Past-President. (See Bylaw Section 9.2.1. (a))

The two most recent Past-Presidents willing to serve constitute the committee. (See Bylaw Section 9.2.1. (a))

All Past-Presidents are automatically advisory members of the committee to be drawn upon as required.

In the event that one of the most recent Past-Presidents is unable to act on the Committee his/her immediate predecessor shall be requested to fill the vacancy.

A quorum shall consist of two thirds of the Committee.
